Notes on Routes

The Quickest

We dub this The Placerville Express as it's pretty much a straight run on 80E to, of course, Placerville.  Barebones - but why waste time getting to the river? 

Worth the extra time

This route is known as The Shenandoah Local.  It has speed and scenery as it stays on 80E until just after Sacramento and then it's the rolling hills of 16E and, yes, the Shenandoah Valley.

The Back way

The longest route, the The Ione Zephyr will take you past orchards, boats, fruit stands and the wine country.  Rolling over and through the Antioch Bridge and the delta won't get you to BFL the fastest, but you're also least likely to hit a traffic jam.
